Quote Of The Day - Bishop William Lori

"When in a state they’re proposing a same-sex marriage law, they always say to religious people ‘you don’t have to solemnize these marriages so we’re protecting your freedom,’ but they want to force us out of foster care and adoption, they want to force us to provide benefits for same-sex couples. The other thing we should not miss is that when we send our kids off to public schools and a lot of places its being drilled into them that the sexual mores taught by the churches are bad, repressive, that same-sex marriage is OK, that homosexuality is all right.

"Of course if you look at a Western Civ. course the role of Christianity is always portrayed in a negative light, as an impediment to progress. As I say, there is an established religion, it’s really an un-religion, an aggressive secularity, that’s a system of belief and that’s becoming the established ‘religion’ in our country today." - Bishop William Lori of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who yesterday testified before Congress about the president's alleged trampling of religious liberties.

ANCHORAGE: Christian Hate Groups To Battle Against Proposed LGBT Rights Bill

For 35 years, LGBT residents of Anchorage, Alaska have battled for employment and housing protections. Time after time Christian groups have beaten them back. Last week activists successfully placed a referendum on the November ballot which adds the words "sexual orientation and gender identity" to this long list: "race, color, sex, religion, national origin, marital status, age, physical disability, and mental disability." The result? Outrage, websites, and a vow to defeat LGBT rights yet again.

Five Men & A Wastebasket

"The gay rights issue is a perfect forum for explaining two of the biggest ways we are manipulated, and they are seduction and intimidation. The seduction is what you just described, ‘oh these two people just want to be married, how does their love and their being married hurt you’? Your darn right it hurts, if you go and redefine out of existence the prime institution of civilization since the beginning of man—marriage—and everybody who looks at this legally will admit that once you say that two men can be married and two women can be married you have to say that three men can be married or three women can be married or five men and a wastebasket can be married. Once marriage has changed from a man and a woman and it just becomes consenting adults who want to call themselves married, you will literally define marriage out of existence so marriage will not exist anymore." - David Kupelian, editor of World Net Daily.

Anti-Gay Adoption Bill Advances In VA

Yesterday the Virginia Senate approved a GOP-sponsored bill which allows state-licensed agencies to deny adoption to anybody who is found unacceptable for "religious reasons."
The bill effectively would allow faith-based organizations, such as Catholic Charities, to legally deny the placement of gay children and the adoption of children by gay parents. Senate Bill 349, sponsored by Sen. Jeff McWaters, R-Virginia Beach, codifies recently adopted state regulations governing the adoption and foster-care placement of children by state-funded agencies. It passed the chamber on a 22-18 vote, with two Democrats — Sens. Charles J. Colgan, D-Prince William, and Phillip P. Puckett, D-Russell siding with all 20 Republicans in the evenly divided chamber.
The Family Foundation of Virginia crowed: "The passage of conscience protection for private child-placement agencies by a bipartisan majority in the Senate is a tremendous victory for religious liberty and for the thousands of children and families around Virginia that are served by these agencies." Gov. Bob McConnell has said that he will sign the bill.

Quote Of The Day - Ken Hutcherson

"I was born and raised in Alabama where blacks and whites didn’t get along very well, and I tried being one of the main reasons they didn’t. I was extremely discriminatory towards whites. The only reason I played football was so I could hurt white people legally." - Pastor Ken Hutcherson, testifying today before the Washington state House committee panel on marriage equality.

RELATED: Hutcherson led the failed Referendum 71 attempt to repeal Washington's "everything but the name" domestic partners law, which was upheld by a slim majority. You may also recall that Hutcherson has led walkouts at public schools in protest of the Day Of Silence and that he issued a bizarre threat should DOMA ever be overturned. In 2010 Hutcherson officiated at Rush Limbaugh's fourth marriage.

Lesbians Just Need Jesus (And Cock)

"Pam [Spaulding] needs Jesus, when Pam meets the Lord that yearning for a member of the same sex will change. She’d probably make a fantastic mother and would enjoy having a husband who was born male – no Chaz Bono business – born male – and meet her man, and rock her world, in the name of the Lord." - Pastor Patrick Wooden, speaking on Peter LaBarbera's radio show.

Wooden and Porno Pete are upset because Spaulding correctly characterized Wooden as one the of the black "rent-a-pastors" that hate groups regularly trot out to "prove" that blacks don't agree that the LGBT rights movement is similar to the black civil rights movement.

VIRGINIA: Adoption Agencies To Be Permitted To Refuse Gay Couples

Both chambers of the Virginia legislature today approved a bill that will make it legal for adoption agencies, however they are funded, to refuse gay couples.
The state House voted 71-28 to pass the legislation Friday. Earlier in the day, a Senate committee endorsed its version of the Republican-backed measure on an 8-7 party-line vote. Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell is expected to sign the bill. Supporters say the measure protects religious freedom. Opponents argue that the government, which contracts with dozens of private, state-licensed child placement agencies, should not sanction discrimination.
This will surely end up in court.

"Marriage serves a vital and universal societal purpose. To channel biological drive and sexual passion that might otherwise become socially destructive."

Quote Of The Day - Stacey Campfield

"As you may have read I was asked to leave a restaurant in Knoxville because my beliefs did not support the owners beliefs on homosexuality. I had not said anything. I was just standing there waiting for a table when the owner came up and started yelling at me calling me names and telling me they were not going to serve me because of my alleged beliefs saying I hate gays. I said in as calm a way as I could that I don't hate gays and the things I have said were backed up by the CDC. I offered to send her the links.

"I have been quite open and clear on my beliefs and have backed them up with facts from the CDC and others. Unfortunately some people do not let facts get in the way of their prejudice. [snip] The cries of 'Ha ha. we showed him!' fall flat to me. It is not I who lost out. My friends and I still had a good meal. We just gave our money to a more gracious host. What was showed was a lack of professionalism." - Tennessee state Rep. Stacey Campfield, the author of his state's "Don't Say Gay" bill. Last week Campfield appeared on the Michelangelo Signorile Show to declare that straight people don't get AIDS.

RELATED: The best comment from Campfield's blog.
Except, as the owner said, members of your state have multiple places to eat. They do not, however, have multiple legislatures to protect their rights. By refusing rights to gays, you are just demonstrating that you are a homophobic bible-thumper stuck in the past. "They claim tolerances for divergent points of view.....Until someone actually has one."

Concerned Women Are Concernstipated That Gay Marriage Will Curse Maryland

"There can be no doubt that America and the state of Maryland have been richly blessed throughout our history. And I hope we can all recognize that those blessings did not come in the abstract. They are the direct result of policies that found their underpinning in the teachings of Christ. Our Founders recognized that. It is a simple calculation. We cannot expect to receive the same blessings we have in the past if we enact polices that go directly against the ones that brought us the blessings in the first place." Mario Diaz, legal counsel for Concerned Women For America.

Radio Host David Pakman Interviews Anti-Gay TN State Rep. Stacey Campfield

Clip description: "Stacey Campfield, Tennessee State Senator and sponsor of the "Don't Say Gay" bill joins us to discuss being kicked out of a restaurant on Gay Street for being anti-gay by the owner, about homosexuality being harmful, and he denies homosexuality exists in the animal kingdom."

RELATED: Check out Michelangelo Signorile's initial interview with Campfield. An excerpt:
"Most people realize that AIDS came from the homosexual community -- it was one guy screwing a monkey, if I recall correctly, and then having sex with men. It was an airline pilot, if I recall. My understanding is that it is virtually -- not completely, but virtually -- impossible to contract AIDS through heterosexual sex...very rarely [transmitted]. "What's the average lifespan of a homosexual? it's very short. Google it yourself."
