NEW YORK CITY: Churches Win Temporary Stay On Public School Evictions

The 160 churches that operate virtually free in New York City's public schools have been granted a temporary reprieve from the eviction ordered by a federal court of appeals.
Alliance Defense Fund says the temporary restraining order is in effect for 10 days while the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York more fully considers constitutional arguments about the city’s unique-in-the-nation prohibition on worship services in vacant public school buildings on weekends. As ADF senior counsel Jordan Lorence puts it, “Churches help communities; evicting churches hurts communities. Empty buildings offer nothing to communities that need hope.”
Andy Humm reports at Gay City News that anti-gay Christian groups are operating a "church planting" network intended to indoctrinate children attending public schools.
The congregation’s legal argument relied on the Supreme Court’s Good News v. Milford Central School ruling that allowed religious meetings in schools. In “The Good News Club: The Christian Right’s Stealth Assault on America’s Children,” published last month, Katherine Stewart argues that the “real mission” of Good News Clubs in schools is to “convert children to fundamentalist Christianity and encourage them to proselytize to their ‘unchurched’ peers, all the while promoting the false but unavoidable impression among the children that its activities are endorsed by the school.” She also documents how leaders “of the church-planting movement have declared their ambition to turn all 1,200 of New York City’s schools into churches.”
As an example of the type of churches granted the above-cited reprieve, here's what the Village Church, which operates out of PS 3 on Hudson Street, has on its website. You read that right. An "ex-gay" ministry affiliated with Exodus is operating in New York City public schools. And YOU are paying for it. Why not just charge us for the rope used to hang us?

Christian Group Plans Rally To Force Government Mandated Prayer In Schools

Right Wing Watch has a quote from the organizer:
This is a movement that is not about a denomination or a church, but a DEMONSTRATION of the Kingdom of God. Signs, wonders, and miracles have broken out amongst students and teachers alike. Teachers have been healed of incurable diseases, and students no longer turn to the counselors for advice, but the Christian Club for prayer and support. A movement that doesn’t care if a student is a Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, Wiccan, Atheist, or anything in between, all are invited to encounter the Love of Jesus and what He has to offer.

Today's Hilarious Lie From NOM

Did you know that the Ninth Circuit Court declared marriage itself to be unconstitutional? According to NOM, it did. Brown Brownshirt:
I don't know about you but my blood is boiling! Not only must our founding fathers be rolling over in their graves with the preposterous notion that marriage is unconstitutional, but the ruling is an affront to the millions of Americans—the vast majority of the nation—who recognize that man does not have the right to redefine marriage. After all, how can federal judges redefine something that man didn't create? Make no mistake about it—yesterday's ruling will also be reversed by the Supreme Court.

I believe that God will stand by those who stand by His design for marriage. We have to do our part to get the case to the Supreme Court, where we can win the ultimate victory to preserve Prop 8 and traditional marriage across the land. Your donation is tax-deductible and will be kept confidential. Whether you can give $10,000, $1,000, $100 or $10, we need your help today! Every penny you give will go directly toward the Prop 8 legal expenses.
If they weren't so evil, they'd truly be laughable.

CA Hate Group: We Need To Treat Judges Like Newt Said (By Arresting Them?)

"Judicial activists like Stephen Reinhardt and Michael Daly Hawkins need to be reined in like Newt Gingrich has been saying about judicial activists. Marriage is not in the United States Constitution, so this case should never have gone to federal court. Now it will be appealed to the nation's high court, with Anthony Kennedy being the deciding vote. Fortunately, in past rulings favoring homosexuality, Kennedy has written against redefining marriage, making it likely that he will affirm California's right to reserve marriage licenses for a man and a woman." - Save California head Randy Thomasson, apparently endorsing Gingrich's promise to arrest federal judges that don't rule to his liking.

Frothy Gets Pissy About Prop 8: The Court Is Calling All Of Us Bigots And Haters

Christians are being oppressed because the intolerant left won't let them impose Sharia Law and inflict a Christian theocracy upon the rest of the nation. Essentially.

Civil Disobedience May Be Necessary If Christians Are To End Their Oppression

Chuck Colson says the day may be here for Christians to revolt against the federal government in acts of civil disobedience. Colson, a convicted Watergate felon, is the co-author of the Manhattan Declaration, which calls for Christians to disobey any law granting anti-discrimination protection to gay Americans.

Christians Must Vote For Christians

I Love A Parade

"They parade their sin like Sodom. And they do it under the rainbow banner almost as if they're saying 'God, you can do nothing to us' because they don't believe that Sodom was destroyed because of homosexuality so they aren't learning the lesson from that. In fifty years we have seen this tiny group of people - they really only represent about two percent of the population - that has grown from being a reviled subculture to now having more power in the legislatures and courtrooms of the world than the Christian church does. In fifty years!

"Nothing has ever grown that fast globally, nothing. Not Islam, not Darwinism, not Marxism, nothing has ever grown that fast. Which shows you that this is a spiritual phenomenon that is unparallelled and that's why God has selected it, singled out this particular behavior to be the indicator of extreme apostasy, the furthest edge of deviance and the warning sign that things are in really, really bad shape." - Hate group leader Scott Lively, speaking to a Sacramento church.
