WASHINGTON STATE: Santorum Protesters Get Tasered And Arrested

Igor Volsky has the transcript of Santorum's speech:
I know this is a very important day in Washington. And in many respects a sad day for many people. We saw the law signed into here in Washington sate. But it is very important you understand what just happened in another place….in the Ninth Circuit….The Ninth Circuit decided that anybody that disagrees with any of these folks, anyone who disagrees with these folks when it comes to the issue if what marriage is in this country, well they are irrational. That’s what the Ninth Circuit said. They said anybody who disagrees with their decision to shoot down Prop 8 in California, they do so because they are irrational and the only possible reason they can possibly…
And that's when things went nuts.

Prop 8 Ballot Repeal Campaign Dies

Love Honor Cherish has given up their campaign to place a repeal of Prop 8 on the November ballot. Via press release:
Although we have had success so far -- our wonderful volunteers, significant donor commitments, our campaign office, and support from numerous leaders and organizations around the state -- collecting the 807,615 valid signatures required will likely not happen by mid-April as required to qualify for the November 2012 ballot. We would need more than $1.5 million in donor commitments to hire a paid signature gathering firm to assist us in this massive effort. In view of the 9th Circuit victory and the narrowness of the ruling, making Supreme Court review less likely, raising the additional funds needed is now not realistic. And, as we have stated, we had no illusions that the initiative could qualify based solely on our statewide volunteer signature gathering effort.
Last year Equality California decided not to pursue a voter repeal of Prop 8 in 2012.

Anti-Gay Group: Prop 8 Ruling Proves The Slippery Slope Case For Civil Unions

The speaker in the clip below is Jordan Sekulow, about whom I recently wrote this:
Sekulow's employer, the ACLJ, routinely sues public school districts to force them to allow Christian prayer ceremonies and similar events. They also convinced the Supreme Court that it was constitutional for evangelists to harass passengers in airport terminals. Over the last decade tax-exempt Christian charities have paid the Sekulow family an estimated $33 million for their legal advocacy.

NY Sen. Ruben Diaz On Prop 8

"The Ninth Circuit Court in California has decided to overrule Proposition 8, a ballot measure that added a provision to the California Constitution that “only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California”. You should know that this Ninth Circuit Court panel of unelected judges has decided that they know better than the will of more than half of California’s population. People often ask me how I cope with all of the chaos that surrounds us. I tell them that as a Christian, I am not afraid. I know that no matter whatever trials and tribulations life presents to any of us, I trust the Lord. This does not give me nor anyone else the right to sit back and do nothing." - New York Sen. Ruben Diaz, writing on this official state webpage.

RELATED: You may recall that Diaz has twice led hate marches through the streets of Manhattan in which tens of thousands of raving Hispanic evangelicals waved anti-gay placards as their religious leaders used loudspeakers to cite biblical verses calling for the executions of homosexuals.

Today's Hilarious Lie From NOM

Did you know that the Ninth Circuit Court declared marriage itself to be unconstitutional? According to NOM, it did. Brown Brownshirt:
I don't know about you but my blood is boiling! Not only must our founding fathers be rolling over in their graves with the preposterous notion that marriage is unconstitutional, but the ruling is an affront to the millions of Americans—the vast majority of the nation—who recognize that man does not have the right to redefine marriage. After all, how can federal judges redefine something that man didn't create? Make no mistake about it—yesterday's ruling will also be reversed by the Supreme Court.

I believe that God will stand by those who stand by His design for marriage. We have to do our part to get the case to the Supreme Court, where we can win the ultimate victory to preserve Prop 8 and traditional marriage across the land. Your donation is tax-deductible and will be kept confidential. Whether you can give $10,000, $1,000, $100 or $10, we need your help today! Every penny you give will go directly toward the Prop 8 legal expenses.
If they weren't so evil, they'd truly be laughable.

CA Hate Group: We Need To Treat Judges Like Newt Said (By Arresting Them?)

"Judicial activists like Stephen Reinhardt and Michael Daly Hawkins need to be reined in like Newt Gingrich has been saying about judicial activists. Marriage is not in the United States Constitution, so this case should never have gone to federal court. Now it will be appealed to the nation's high court, with Anthony Kennedy being the deciding vote. Fortunately, in past rulings favoring homosexuality, Kennedy has written against redefining marriage, making it likely that he will affirm California's right to reserve marriage licenses for a man and a woman." - Save California head Randy Thomasson, apparently endorsing Gingrich's promise to arrest federal judges that don't rule to his liking.

David Boies Vs NOM's Chairman

Last night AFER attorney David Boies tangled with John Eastman, NOM's recently appointed chairman. Guess who got their ass handed to them?

Swingrich Slams Prop 8 Ruling

"The Constitution of the United States begins with 'We the People'; it does not begin with 'We the Judges'. Federal judges need to take heed of that fact. Federal judges are substituting their own political views for the constitutional right of the people to make judgments about the definition of marriage. The country has been here before. In 1856, the Supreme Court thought it could settle the issue of slavery once and for all and impose a judicial solution on the country. In 1973, the issue was abortion and once again a Supreme Court thought that it could impose a judicial solution on the country once and for all. Judicial solutions don’t solve contentious social issues once and for all. Should the Supreme Court fail to heed the disastrous lessons if its own history and attempt to impose its will on the marriage debate in this country by affirming today’s Ninth Circuit decision, it will bear the burden of igniting a constitutional crisis of the first order." - Newt Gingrich, in a statement posted to his campaign site.

SCOTUS May Not Hear Prop 8

"Given the reasoning of the Ninth Circuit's decision and its focus on the specific circumstances that led to the enactment of Prop 8 in California, it may be a tall order for the supporters of Prop 8 to persuade the Supreme Court to take the case. The Supreme Court normally only accepts cases when different federal appellate courts have reached opposite conclusions on the same legal issues, or where a decision has broad national implications. The Ninth Circuit's California-focused decision presents neither of those circumstances. Unless the Supreme Court breaks with its own tradition and intervenes in the case, it's possible that wedding bells will be ringing in California again before the end of the year." - Shannon Minter, legal counsel for the National Center for Lesbian Rights.

Romney Denounces Prop 8 Ruling

"Today, unelected judges cast aside the will of the people of California who voted to protect traditional marriage. This decision does not end this fight, and I expect it to go to the Supreme Court. I believe marriage is between a man and a woman and, as president, I will protect traditional marriage and appoint judges who interpret the Constitution as it is written and not according to their own politics and prejudices." - Mitt Romney. Just in from today's big loser: "If every person receiving this email contributed just $63.00, our appeal to the Supreme Court would be fully funded---instantly!" They say they need another $2 million.
